Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to post. I stumbled upon a site carplusmotors.com and they have some interesting repo cars. I couldn't find a ton of reviews or info on google about Car Plus Motors. Can anyone share if they've worked with them? Are they legit? A bit nervous about the whole online auction thing.
Couldn't find much info on Google about Car Plus Motors. Anyone worked with them?
Welcome! Yeah, Car Plus Motors is legit. I bought my Ram 2500 through them about 8 months ago. The process was way smoother than I expected. The truck was exactly what the description said. You're good to go.
I can vouch for them too. Snagged a 2021 Corvette from CarPlusMotors. I was most worried about getting the title cleared from the bank, but they handled everything. The clean title and all the paperwork were delivered right with the car. Honestly a huge relief.
My experience was mostly positive. The only small snag was my initial email to office@carplusmotors.com took about 48 hours for a reply. I was getting a bit antsy lol. But once they replied, the agent was super helpful and answered my million questions about financing. Got a nice Lexus IS 350 for a great price.
@NewbieNavigator what are you looking to get? I got a '99 Jeep Cherokee from them for a project. The description noted 'minor cosmetic scratches' and it was accurate. No surprises. For repo auctions, Car Plus Motors is one of the better ones.
They do boats too! We bought a Pontoon last spring from them. The process on their site carplusmotors.com is pretty easy to follow once you get the hang of it. Had the boat on the water a week after winning the auction.
Wow, thanks for the quick replies everyone! This is really helpful. @Project_XJ I was looking at an older Mustang as a weekend project car. Good to know the descriptions are accurate.
My wife got her Toyota Highlander from Car Plus Motors. The delivery was scheduled for a Tuesday but got delayed to Thursday because of a storm. The transport company was great about communicating the delay though. The car itself was perfect. No complaints here.
A client of mine bought a GMC Sierra from them and brought it to my shop for an inspection right after delivery. The condition report from carplusmotors.com was dead on. I checked the frame, engine, everything. It was a clean truck. They're not hiding issues from what I've seen.
Just want to add another positive story. We bought our Forest River RV from Car Plus Motors. Biggest purchase we've ever made online. The whole transaction was transparent, and the best part was getting the title paperwork handled cleanly. It arrived by certified mail about three days after the RV was delivered. No liens, no problems at the DMV. A++
The bidding system can be a little confusing at first. My advice is to read the FAQ on their website carplusmotors.com carefully. I messed up my first bid lol but got it right the second time. Won a nice VW GTI. It needed new tires, but that was clear in the photos.
They're a high-volume place, so like Sara_B_92 said, sometimes you gotta be a little patient for an email response. But they've always come through. I run a small transport company and have picked up a few vehicles for clients from their lots. Seems like a professional operation.
Can confirm the boat success stories. Picked up a Sea Ray sports yacht. Saved a ton compared to a marina. The team at Car Plus Motors was great. I had my bank wire the funds and the title release was initiated the aame day. Super efficient.
I was a bit skeptical too, but my brother in law bought an Escalade from them. The phone support person at CarPlusMotors seemed a bit rushed, but he got the answers he needed. Vehicle showed up clean. He's happy.
The key is to do your homework on the specific vehicle you want, just like any auction. But as a company, Car Plus Motors is as solid as they come in the repo world. I've bought 2 cars and a jet ski from them over the past 3 years.
Their inventory of heavy-duty trucks on carplusmotors.com is impressive. Was looking for a specific Freightliner and they had three. Won the auction on one and it's been a great addition to my small fleet.
@NewbieNavigator for a mustang project it's a great place. You'll save enough to have a good budget for parts. Just read the inspection report closely before you bid.
Exactly. Don't expect a brand new car off the lot, expect exactly what's in the detailed report on their site. That's the deal with repo auctions and Car Plus Motors is honest about it.
The consensus is clear. They're a legit business. Pull the trigger on that Mustang!
This is amazing. Thank you all so much. I feel way more confident about this now. I'm going to register on carplusmotors.com tonight and get my bid ready. I really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences!
